About Me

Welcome to Happy Paws Wirral, providing dog walking to happy pets in the Wirral.

My name is Sophie and I was in the Emergency Services for 16 years until I decided to take redundancy in January 2017. I thought long and hard about what would make me really happy in the rest of my working life and realised that I have always loved animals and the outdoors and thought that there was no better job for this than being a Dog Walker and Pet Carer.

I have had a variety of pets myself from fish and budgies to rabbits and dogs and have always been around animals growing up and in my previous job.

I have successfully obtained two diplomas in Dog Walking & Pet Sitting and Canine Behaviour Training.  I am also a certified Pet First Aider and hold a DBS (Police checked)  All certificates are available on request.

I also regularly like to attend courses and workshops to keep my skills and knowledge up to date.

I have my own van for transporting your pets which is kitted out with secure cages, bedding and all necessary  equipment and is fully insured for the business purposes.

I am also a proud supporter and promoter of Yellow Dog UK which is an international campaign to create awareness around the world that 'Some Dogs need Space'.

The yellow ribbon can be worn for short or long periods of time to make other dog walkers aware that the dog wearing the ribbon is a Yellow Dog UK and can be nervous around other dogs or even elderly dogs who don't like young lively dogs around them.
